How much does a website cost?
Websites start from R2 000 for a focused small-business site. Larger sites, online stores and custom features are quoted in writing before any work starts.
What does hosting cost?
Hosting starts from R200 per month and includes SSL, backups and monitoring. Business email starts from R25 per mailbox per month.
Who will I actually be dealing with?
Me — Michael. Webmek is a one-person business, so the person you brief is the person who designs and builds your site. No account managers, no hand-offs.
How long does it take?
A small site is typically live in one to two weeks once content is ready. Larger builds take three to five weeks. You'll get a timeline with your quote.
Do I own my website and domain?
Yes. The domain is registered in your name and the site is yours. If you ever move on, you take everything with you.
Will my site show up on Google?
Every site is built so Google can read and index it properly. Ranking for competitive searches takes time and effort beyond the build — I'll be straight with you about what's realistic.
Do you only work in Johannesburg?
No. I'm based in Johannesburg but work with businesses all over South Africa. Everything is handled remotely over WhatsApp, phone, email and video calls.
Can you update my existing site instead of rebuilding it?
